Attend a Special Event

Kaleidoscope

In November 1991 the first annual Storytelling Kaleidoscope was hosted at Ridgeview Mennonite Church, Gordonville, PA. Over the years the format has changed to accommodate its popularity and location but Kaleidoscope still remains an event for the entire family. Each year Kaleidoscope offers a different theme around which the food, decorations, activities and program are planned.   The evening includes a dessert bar where guests can indulge in a decadent dessert and a silent auction filled with a wide variety of items on which to bid.  There are also events to entertain children between the ages of 4 and 11 years old.

Chester County Garden Luncheon

The Chester County Garden Luncheon began in the Spring of 2000 as a Saturday morning brunch.  The board of directors commissioned Karene Zimmerman to chair this event as a venue for introducing more individuals to the work of Bridge of Hope Lancaster & Chester Counties in Chester County. The variety of public and exotic gardens in the Greater Philadelphia and Chester County area gave evidence of the popularity of gardening among area residence. The guest speakers shared picturesque photographs as well as tips for beautifying backyards for the gardening hobbyist. Early speakers included nationally known gardeners such as Joanna Reed, David Culp, as well as Longwood Gardens professionals.  This event, currently hosted at the Desmond Hotel and Conference Center, Malvern, PA,  also features a gourmet meal along with a silent auction filled with plants and gardening décor.

Lancaster County Garden Luncheon

Due to the popularity of the Chester County Garden Luncheon event, in April 2006 the board of directors launched another garden luncheon in Lancaster County.  Chaired by gardening enthusiast and board member Judy Harnish, this event offered live garden-themed demonstrations.   In its first year, Lancaster County Garden Luncheon garnered a sell-out crowd.  To accomodate the interest, the planning committee moved this luncheon to its current venue, The Eden Resort & Suites, Lancaster, PA.

In the early years both luncheons featured the same speaker. This luncheon also features a silent auction with a great selection of gardening items.  The Lancaster luncheon continues to develop its unique character.

Create Your Own Event

With a little creativity and enthusiasm, fundraising events to support Bridge of Hope LCC have been developed.  Through triathlons, bike rides across the country, home party sales events, and more, individuals have raised funds to end and prevent homelessness for single mothers and their children locally.
